Community Roots, LLC is a small consulting firm specializing in community, organizational and business development consulting. We help communities and organizations build strong roots and greater capacity so that they are able to benefit from and take advantage of opportunities to branch out and collaborate for greater outcomes. Based in Vermont, we work in New England and beyond. Our areas of expertise include:

  • Natural resource based rural economic development including agriculture and food systems, forestry, and nature-based and cultural tourism.

  • Rural wealth creation work including training, workshops, and coaching around value chain development as well as assistance with measurement of multiple forms of wealth.

Center for Women & Enterprise

CWE is an inclusive economic empowerment organization. We help women business owners and aspiring women entrepreneurs launch and grow their business by providing greater access to the resources, tools and support they need. Our clients represent a variety of racial, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. Scholarship are available for those who qualify. What we do:

Trail Town Program

The Trail Town Program® revitalizes rural communities by growing outdoor tourism and small businesses, powering Trail Towns across PA, WV and MD, and helping trails nationwide follow suit. Trail Towns empower communities to work together regionally to advance economic growth, grow local businesses and jobs, improve rural infrastructure, and protect their trails and natural resources.
